The Blindstitch Foot is designed for stitching blind hems in draperies and garments. It is also useful for some flat locking and heirloom applications. The foot is designed with an adjustable blade that is used to facilitate the stitching of serged blind hems. The guide is adjusted by loosening the large screw in the center of the foot and moving the blade to one side. When stitching a blind hem, the blade should be adjusted so that the fold of the fabric is guided just under the right needle. The foot comes in two sizes: .5mm of fine fabrics and 1.0mm for heavier fabrics.
It can be used in with either the right or left needle. Because the adjustable blade acts as a guide for feeding the fabric under the needle, this foot can be useful to children or beginner overlock operators until they are comfortable with the action of the machine. The fabric edge is placed next to the guide, making it easier to stitch a straight line.
